Home Made Soda

I made my first home made soda using instructions from http://www.truetex.com/carbonation.htm

Most of the parts came from a keg kit I bought from someone on craigs list, I added a tire valve from autozone, and some tubing clamps and air quick releases came from Home depot.

On the left is a 5 lb CO2 cylinder, dual head regulator, and the home home made soda cap. The soda cap is made up of bottle cap I drilled a hole in then mounted a car tire valve, then 1/4 inch tubing to an air quick release valve. The third photo shows the quick release that came from the air compressor section of home depot.

I have some flavoring on order from flavrz, if they don’t work, Soda stream has from concentrate called MyWater that I can try.

If i get bored with soda, I can always build my kegerator and bar in the basement. I already have the keg tap and a beer tap, so I just need something the keep the beer chilled and build a bar.

Beer Tap

I picked up a beer keg starter kit from someone on craigslist over the weekend for $100 (orginal cost about $184)
I got a regulator, a CO2 tank, Keg Tap, and Beer tap

So now I need to build a bar and find a keg of good beer.

So what does a beer drinker do on his birthday in Beijing China. He drinks beer, and good beer at that. We were are the Kro’s Nest next to workers stadium. The beer was good but the pizza was average at best, soggy crust, lack of toppings other than cheese and tomato sauce.

From Left to right, Brooklyn Pale Ale, Brooklyn Brown, Rogue Brutal Bitter, Brooklyn Lager, Rogue Dead Guy Ale.

Each bottle has its own label translated on the back. We tried to save them but they were too well glued.

On my commute home last night my Trek 4300 turned over 1,000 miles.

Hannaford loose 4.2 Million credit cards. We stopped there on the way back from Killington to grab some beer. I think every credit card I have has been replaced with a new number in the last 2 years.

Saturday was a fun day, started at the SPBW Real Ale Festival at the wharf rat. I posted my beer list from the Real Ale Festival at the Wharf Rat on planetbrew.com. Then we went to an Indian engagement party. I don’t think I have ever seen so many Mercedes in one parking lot. On Sunday I was complaining about about having a sore back. It took me a while to work out that it was from all the beer I was pouring on saturday. Before you say anything I was a volunteer pouring samples from 4 different casks. Just not used to bending over and turning the tap.
