Some times I wonder about our CM (change management?) system. I have one document I want to add, “sorry you don’t have the role to do that”. So I move onto updating some scripts but do I create a TDR or and ER?, response oh an ER. So I now have my ER, but I still can’t do any work on it since someone else has to approve it, so my computer is filling up with -temp files until I can get the CM system to allow me to check out my code so I can edit it. Then there is the little problem of not being allowed to load a file with the same name twice in different projects…… I am sure this is supposed to make my life easier but I am getting to the point of doing my development on my local machine and only checking in files when I am finished but kind of defeats the purpose of using CM.

and i can help. maybe. that part about posting duplicate file names — just change it.. to anything. i spoke with brandon (the dimensions god) and he told me it isn’t even being used for what we do. 🙂
