I was browsing through ebay and found a Cray T2d. One like this was the pride and joy of Edinburgh Uni when I first joined. Then again I also had a disk quota of 1 meg and was excited about getting 2

Looks like I went to see the shuttle launch just in time. The BBC is reporting that nasa will not announce the shuttle launch until 24 hours before take off.

Geek Stuff
I have an idea. I have been thinking about an mp3 server for the living room, but to build a box from scratch is too expensive. I have been playing with an old toshiba that is tiny. Its only a P133, but linux installs and sound works and it plays MP3’s. So I could drop a network card in it and then control it via a website on another computer. I would have been really cool if I could drop a video encoder card in it and sever real video streams from the box but the latop might be a cheap way of doing it. The Laptops are going for about $100 on Ebay

Did anyone else get junk mail about a live journal user cutes? Just curious. It came to an off email address, not one that I really use now so not sure how anyone would have made the connection.

I got up nice and early this morning so I could get to work at 9am. This may not seem early but for this guy it is. The last time I had a job to go to was on November 9th 2001. I am now the proud owner of a key for entering the building. My photo was taken for a badge I should get in the next week or so. I have a phone charger for my company issued phone that I should get tomorrow. I have 2 computers at my desk (one that have already wiped and reinstalled with a different OS). I have started working on my first project. I am now tired.

I am going out biking, it is such a lovely day. I have done the one thing I really really needed to do to today.
